After a relative news drought when it came to Liechtenstein, here's somethings new: Hereditary Princess Sophie welcomed a delegation of members of the TRADUKI project at Schloss Vaduz today. TRADUKI is a European network for literature and books between the German-speaking countries of Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland as well as the south eastern European states of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia. The exchange between the participants shall be advanced through a
translation program for fiction, the humanities as well as books for
children and young people. In addition, Prince Philipp recently gave an interview to Swiss-Jewish newspaper Tachles in which he talks finances, politics and history.

If TRADUKI includes the German speaking countries, why isnt Luxembourg part of it?
ReplyDeleteAround here (both by the media and on a political level), Luxembourg isn't generally referred to as one of the German-speaking countries as it usually includes those countries where the majority of the population speaks German as a first language. Otherwise it would also need to include Belgium where German is also an official language like it is the case in Luxembourg.
