An Award And A Conference

Yesterday, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa had two engagements. First off she attended a conference with the topic Développement et Promotion de l’Economie Solidaire au Service du Développement Durable à Luxembourg at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg. She gave a speech about Social Business and its service to the people. Pictures can be found on the website of the cour, an article at Le Quotidien.

In the evening the Grand Duchess was present at the "Edward Steichen Award" ceremony at the MUDAM (a.k.a. Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean). Every two years, the Steichen Award is given to aspiring modern artists between 25 and 35. This year's award goes to the Polish born artist Maria Loboda. Newly introduced this year is an award in the catagory "Edward Steichen Luxembourg Resident in NYC" for Luxembourgish artists under 35 and its first edition went to Claudia Passeri. Articles and pictures are available at Wort, Tageblatt, Journal, Le Quotidien and the cour. Short glimpses of the Grand Duchess can be found in this video, starting at about 21:13.
