A Family Affair...

On Saturday, June 12th, Prince Josef of Liechtenstein – son of The Grand Duke’s younger sister HRH Princess Margarethe and her husband, HSH Prince Nikolaus of Liechtenstein - showed off his mad soldiering skills as he not only participated in the Irish Guards’ “Trooping the Colour” in honor of the HM The Queen of Great Britain’s “official” birthday, but His Serene Highness also had the distinction of leading the regiment, acting as flag-bearer and presenter. His parents, sisters and his uncle Prince Jean of Luxembourg were on hand to offer their support him.

An active lieutenant in this infantry of the British Army, 21-year-old Prince Josef follows in the noble footsteps of his beloved grandfather The Grand Duke Jean, a valiant veteran of the Guards who served with the regiment as an officer in World War II, later attaining the position of colonel. Featured in an article by the Liechtensteiner Vaterland website, proud Prince Nikolaus is quoted as mentioning his son's intention to put his military duties aside to attend university in the United States this autumn.

In addition to the above mentioned site, the always handy-dandy RTL Luxembourg features a treasure trove of visual love from the big day. Merci and congrats!
