Grand Duke Henri Receives Five New Ambassadors

On the 9th, Grand Duke Henri received in audience five new ambassadors for the presentation of credentials: Dario Ernesto Chiru Ochoa from the Republic of Panama; Karla Luzette Beteta Brenes from the Republic of Nicaragua; Choe Il from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea; Elpidoforos Economou from the Republic of Cyprus; and Jacqueline Marie Zaba Nikiema from Burkina Faso.

Guillaume and Stéphanie Attend Gospel Concert

Last night, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie were in attendance for a concert by "Gospel and Friends". The choir is made up of singers between the ages of 75 and 100. The concert was organised by Fondation Ecouter pour Mieux s’Entendre (EME), or Listen to Better Understand. Guillaume and Stéphanie have been supporting the organisation all the way since their wedding donating 15,000 euros to the Fondation and previously attending concerts in December 2014, in May 2015 and January 2016.

Stéphanie Visits Luxembourg Art Week

Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie paid a visit to the Luxembourg Art Week yesterday. She was accompanied for the visit by the State Secretary of Culture Guy Arendt and also met several artists taking part in the exhibition by the Cercle Artistique de Luxembourg (CAL) at the Tramsschapp. 

Founded in 1893, the Cercle Artistique de Luxembourg (CAL) is an association which brings together painters, sculptors, engravers and other creators in the visual arts, professional or amateur, that have been admitted by an international jury to exhibit their work at the Salon du CAL - today's exhibiton - three times within 5 years. The main objective of the CAL is to bring together the creators of different artistic expressions.

Hans-Adam and Marie Plant Tree To Celebrate Wedding Anniversary

Longest yet most melodical headline ever?! Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie celebrated their golden wedding anniversary earlier this year. Instead of a fancy gift, Liechtenstein's government decided to go for a sustainable and growing one: A walnut tree. Yesterday, the Princely Couple planted the new tree near Schloss Vaduz with the Principality's whole government, the President of Parliament and his deputy as well as a few other dignitaries in attendance.

Henri Attends Meeting for Olympic Solidarity Commission

On the 6th, Grand Duke Henri was in Lausanne, Switzerland, to attend a meeting of the Olympic Solidarity Commission, which highlights opportunities to support National Olympic Committees (NOCs). The Grand Duke has been a member of the commission since 1999 and a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since February of 1998.

Maria Teresa and Alexandra Participate in Global Social Business Summit

From the 6th to the 7th, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa is in Paris to attend and speak at the Global Social Business Summit (GSBS). The event opened on the 4th and runs through the 7th. Also present for the Summit were Princess Alexandra, Queen Sofia of Spain, and the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo.

The theme is "How to Create a New Human Society," and the Grand Duchess's speech highlighted the need to focus on "an economy in the service of men and not pure finance." She also encouraged a positive view of the opportunities for finance: "Finance can become a noble and useful material for the future of the planet and social cohesion when it is worked by intelligent, generous and altruistic people." The event is organized in part through the efforts of Muhammad Yunus who developed the first microcredit institution.

The Summit was held at the Cité Universitaire Internationale, and the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess were also there on the 4th for the 90th anniversary of the Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre, which hosts Belgian and Luxembourgish students at the school.

Henri and Maria Teresa Honor the Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre

On the evening of the 4th, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were in Paris to recognize the 90th anniversary of the Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre, which houses Belgian and Luxemburgish students who are attending the Cité Internationale Universitaire. The Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre hosts more than 500 students each year and has housed around 25,000 since its inception.

The celebration included a tour of the exhibit "Les anciens ont du talent" ("The Alumni Have Talent"), followed by other events hosted by former residents of the Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre. Also in attendance were Mertens de Wilmars, the Ambassador of Belgium in Paris; Martine Schommer, the Ambassador of Luxembourg in Paris; and Jean-Marc Sauvé the President of the Cité Internationale Universitaire.

On October 15th, Princess Claire attended Marathon Indoor Cycling which was held to support World Day of Organ Transplant. She wore a Tara Jarmon top.

On October 17th , Hereditaty Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie attended the 23rd Prix Marquis de Villalobar in Madrid. Stéphanie wore her Armani Collezioni dress with her Natan pumps and Natan clutch.

On October 18th, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie spent their second day in Madrid where they visited a museum. Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore a Tara Jarmon coat with her Tara Jarmon green dress, her Gucci bag. Her shoes have also been worn by the Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa.

On October 25th, the Grand Duke Jean, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended a concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the volontary army and the 175th anniversary of the Musique Militaire Grande-Ducale. The Grand Duchess wore her Armani black velvet top.

On October 30th, the Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie attended a conference on World Stroke Day. She wore a new Claudie Pierlot green dress and her Diane Von Furstenberg clutch. I think the shoes are Sergio Rossi but the photos aren't good enough for me to be sure of the model.

On November 2nd, the Grand Ducal Family attended a mass to mark All Souls's Day. The Grand-Duchess wore a purple coat that could be from Yves Dooms with a Chanel scarf.

Grand Ducal Family Marks All Souls' Day

An almost unusually large number of members of the Grand Ducal Family attended All Souls' Day mass at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame early today. Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra as well as Prince Guillaume and Princess Sibilla all attended the mass to honour the deceased members of the Grand Ducal Family. They were greeted by Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich who also performed the blessing of the graves to honor deceased members of the family.

Grand Duke Marks Reformation Day

Five hundred years and one day ago, on October 31, 1517, German monk Martin Luther nailed his Ninety-five Theses on the door of the All Saints' Church in Wittenberg in the Electorate of Saxony in the Holy Roman Empire marking the start of the Reformation. Yesterday, Grand Duke Henri attended a church service con-celebrated by the Protestant Parish of the German language in Luxembourg, the Protestant-Reformed Church in Luxembourg and the Catholic Church at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame to commemorate the event. 

In a slightly funny turn of events, it is actually the Catholic Church of Luxembourg that offers a gallery of visuals of the service.
