Earlier today, at around 1am, members of the Grand Ducal Family including Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, several of their children, Grand Duke Jean and members of the more extended family were evacuated from their homes holiday home in the south of France. Wildfires are currently raging in the area around Cabasson. At least 10,000 people were evacuated by French authorities.
In a statement released by the cour, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess thanked the French authorities, including the local mayor, police and firefighters, for their exemplary work. All the members of the Grand Ducal Family are in fine health and in a secure location.
