Comments

Like most bloggers, I have decided not to give a voice to anyone posting an anonymous comment. Anonymous comments will be deleted - without - being read. I just go down the line selecting any comment left by "anonymous" and then bulk delete.

I have received a lot of harassing and negative comments, in the past two months. I cannot understand why people with such negative attitudes toward Luxembourg, The Grand Ducal Family, and my writing feel the need to read this blog or comment. I have deleted most of the anonymous comments left in the past few weeks.

If you need to ask a question or make some comment directed toward the author of an entry, the e-mail option should be used. I typically respond to all inquiries for information about Luxembourg or the Grand Ducal Family. Due to the volume of mail I receive and personal commitments, it sometimes takes me a few days (or a week) to respond. I always welcome messages from those wonderful people that send me news updates and links. I appreciate your contributions to this blog.

I apologize for having to waste space for this matter. Unfortunately, it has become necessary

Sorry you had to do this.

  2. Thanks!

Words to live by! I need to work on 2, 5 ,7 and 9.

I could probably deal with it if all the negativity was directed at me, but a lot of the really vile stuff is just about Luxembourg or the GDF. It is really unnecessary.

  3. I donť think that delete all anonymous comments without reading is a good choice - for example me: I write a blog but if I weren't the only choise for me how to comment on your site would be anonymous, cause I donť use any of other platforms how to log into commenting here.
So I think you should select the non-vulgar ones rather than delete all.

  4. The comment moderation is not set to require sign-in. I have arranged the settings to allow users to post comments with merely a username. You do not need an account on any platform to comment here.

  5. Thanks to The Mad Monarchist and his decision not to allow anonymous comments I discovered your blog. Be assured that I am glad about the information you give in English on the Grand Ducal Family. You are doing a marvellous job. Congratulations!

  6. It is strange, but a lot of royal blogs seem to have the same problems lately. It is at the same time that Royal Correspondent and Mad Hattery are also posting about hate-comments from anonymous people. The people (or is it just one person) who are doing this are really sick.
I am just a silent lurker, but wanted to tell you keep up the good work! I like your site....

  7. You are definitely not alone in this situation. Like Natascha noted, I had a problem with a troll reader recently. It's unfortunate, but the best thing to do is refuse anonymous comments and ignore those who are mentally unstable... and there seems to be a lot of them out there these days on all the royal blogs.

Keep up the good work! :)

  8. I totally know what you mean. I have to go through and remove horrible comments all the time. It is exhausting.
