State Visit to France: Gala Dinner, Alas No Tiara

It's a sad day in Luxarazzi Land when you realise the French do not do proper state visit gala dinners. Business suits and gowns - are you kidding me, mes chers amis? I expected something more after this morning's 140 horses strong escort down the streets of Paris. I'm told we should be happy to get a gown and not cocktail dresses, but meh - you lost me, France. So here is the totally un-enthusiastic run-down of what happened this evening.

So to round off the day, French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte welcomed Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa for a dinner at the Élysée Palace. The Grand Duchess wore a new green gown and at least Madame la Grand-Duchesse managed to sneak in some lovely emeralds. (I knew we could count on you, MT!) The Grand Duke also held a speech though it doesn't seem to be available online as of yet.
