And the Winner of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race Is...

After beating Princess Margaretha's Sapphire and Diamond Tiara, the Diamond Art Deco Tiara, Grand Duchess Maria-Ana's Tiara as well as Queen Victoria Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara in previous rounds, the Belgian Scroll Tiara also took home the victory against the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara in our Grand Final of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race. Gathering 52.41 percent of your votes in the final, the tiara once gifted to Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte as a wedding present can now proudly call itself the winner and your favourite sparkler of the Grand Ducal Tiara Collection.

Congrats to Order of Splendor and our commentators Avery, Marina, NotRoyal, Mellie, Gretchen K., Orangemily, Mrs Diamond and AnnemarieGK who all predicted a win of the Belgian Scroll Tiara as the outcome of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race. A HUGE thank you and all the other commentators out there who shared their opinions during the last three and a half months that were the Luxarazzi Tiara Race, and of course thank you to everyone who voted in the 32 polls that led us here!

And now there is only one thing for me left to ask - cause this is just like any other competition out there - which tiara do you think should have *really* won? Share your opinion in the comment section below! #TeamEmpire - but that's just my humble opinion...

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (Grand Final): Belgian Scroll Tiara vs. Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara

After three and a half months, 30 matches and a third place race off, we are finally here: The Grand Final of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race or the one that will decide which one is your favourite tiara of the Grand Ducal Collection. First of all a big thank you to everyone who has voted in the last 31 polls and to those who commented and shared their views - this was a lot of fun! Also, congratulations to the Empire Tiara which is leaving the Race on a high note winning the small final by almost two thirds of votes against Queen Victoria Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara.
Looking back at the very first post introducing the Luxarazzi Tiara Race, the Empire Tiara definetely was a favourite to win it. The two most mentioned contenders for the win along with it are actually our two finalists. Quoting from June, Ella of The Court Jeweller said, "I'll go out on a limb and predict that this year's winner will be the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara. Perfectly proportioned, and with a gorgeous floral design, it has looked beautiful on every member of the family who has worn it." And Order of Splendor said, "I think the Belgian Scroll could take the whole competition, because it's just one of the most classically pretty pieces in the collection." Pretty good guesses on their part! And now, it's up to you: The Belgian Scroll Tiara or the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara - tell us...

This time around, you will have eight days to vote (until Sunday, October 18), so enough time for careful consideration.
Have fun and don't forget to tell us below which tiara got your vote!

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (Small Final): Ena's Aquamarine Tiara vs. Empire Tiara

It's time for the final, the small final that is - the match of those two tiaras who did put up a good fight but lost their semifinals in the end, Queen Victoria Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara and the Empire Tiara. Because, you know, it never hurts to have an additional tiara poll. Plus, it gives one of the following sparklers the chance to end the Luxarazzi Tiara Race on a high note! We will see both our grand finalists, the Belgian Scroll Tiara and the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara (which reached about 55 percent of votes in our second semifinal), again on Saturday.
In a way, it seems that the small as well as the grand final have quite equal tiara matches, at least size-wise. Heading off against each other in the third place race off are Queen Victoria Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara, worn by her great-granddaughter Princess Sibilla above, and the Empire Tiara, the one which would have apparently won if we had asked for your favourite tiara that most looks like a crown or is in a league of its own.

Hurry up, voting already closes on Saturday night (Lux time) this time around.

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (SF 2): Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara vs. Empire Tiara

Ladies and gentlemen, we have our first finalist - and the Belgian Scroll Tiara it is! The all-diamond sparkler beat Queen Victoria Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara by almost two thirds of votes in the first one of our semifinals. Was it a choice you expected? And which tiara will it face in the grand final?!
Will it be the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara, the pretty preferred wedding tiara of the Grand Ducal Family? Or will it be the Empire Tiara, the tiara that puts the grand in the Grand Duchess? Are you on Team Small(er) But Beautiful or are you one for Team Go Big or Go Home? Tell us...

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (SF 1): Belgian Scroll Tiara vs. Queen Ena's Aquamarine Tiara

You have spoken: GO BIG or go home. The Empire Tiara won the last of the quarter finals of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race beating the Habsburg Fringe Tiara by a little more than 59 percent of votes. We will see the biggest sparkler of the Grand Ducal Collection again soon in the second semi final, but first up...
The Belgian Scroll Tiara vs. Queen Victoria Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara. A former wedding tiara that has been worn by three Grand Ducal ladies thus far against the only tiara featuring coloured stones left in the race and at the same time showing just how royal the ancestry of Princess Sibilla is. I know it's getting tougher and tougher but tell us nonetheless, which one is your favourite?

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (QF 4): Empire Tiara vs. Habsburg Fringe Tiara

That was close! Closer than I expected, I got to admit. After a tough and close fight, it is the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara that advances to semifinals of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race beating the Grand Duchess Adélaïde Tiara by only 16 votes. In the semis, one of the bridal tiaras of the Grand Ducal Family will face on of these goodies...
Up against each other today: The tiara that puts the grand in the Grand Duchess vs. the fringest fringe that ever fringed; Luxembourg's biggest sparkler, the Empire Tiara, against the Habsburg Fringe Tiara, which - in theory - could also be worn by a Luxembourgish princess. Tell us...

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (QF 3): Vine Leaves Tiara vs. Grand Duchess Adélaïde Tiara

It's already Thursday at noon (at least in the time zone I'm in) and so it's high time for the third quarter final of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race. But first, let's have a look back how the last match turned out. It wasn't as close as the one before but I still think that Princess Joan's Diamond Tiara went remarkably far for it's little known history and wearer. However, in the end it was no match for Queen Victoria Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara which gathered about two thirds of your votes.
Will today's match will be closer? Competing for your affection are the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara and the Grand Duchess Adélaïde Tiara. Both tiaras that can be worn by an array of Grand Ducal ladies, both tiaras full of history - does that make it difficult for you to make a decision? Tell us in the comments below, but first...

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (QF 2): Queen Ena's Aquamarine Tiara vs. Princess Joan's Diamond Tiara

It's time to vote again! But first, let's have a look back: It was a clear match this time. In a clear race from start to finish the Belgian Scroll Tiara won against Grand Duchess Maria Ana's (mystery) Tiara with 89.92 percent of your votes and thus advancing to the semi-finals.
I could imagine this one being a little closer: Up against each other are Queen Victoria Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara, worn by her great-granddaughter Princess Sibilla above, and Princess Joan's Diamond Tiara, worn by her daughter Princess Charlotte above. Aquamarines or diamonds - tell us...

Voting closes on Wednesday night, don't forget to comment below.

P.S. As I know some of you were interested what else I saw at the treasury of Munich's Residenz a few weeks ago apart from the tiaras featured in this race, check out Castles & Co for that!

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (QF 1): Belgian Scroll Tiara vs. Grand Duchess Maria Ana's Tiara

It was a close race, it was the closest race - but in the end, one of them head to win. The Bavarian Lover's Knot Tiara and the Habsburg Fringe Tiara went head to head for all of the match. At one point the Bavarian sparkler led by two votes, at another the Liechtenstein tiara was ahead by three - and when we had 370 votes, we actually had a draw. In the end, we even had a bit of a clear winner considering how close the race was: The Habsburg Fringe Tiara got 51.02 percent of your votes and thus advances to the quarter finals of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race!
In fact we are starting with the quarter finals today. First off are one of the favourites for the crown of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race, the Belgian Scroll Tiara, against Grand Duchess Maria Ana's Tiara, which we know painfully little about but it still kicked out both the Emerald Art Deco Tiara as well as the Sapphire Bracelet Tiara. So...

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (24): Bavarian Lover's Knot Tiara vs. Habsburg Fringe Tiara

Previously on the Luxarazzi Tiara Race: The Lannoy Tiara did put up a good fight but in the end it was no match for the Empire Tiara. The sparkler that puts the grand into the Grand Duchess gathered 64.02 percent of your votes and thus advances to our quarter finals.
Up against each other today are two tiaras of more equal size. On the one hand, we have the Bavarian Lover's Knot Tiara worn by Princess Antonia of Luxembourg, Bavaria's last crown princess, in the picture above. On the other hand, the Habsburg Fringe Tiara, which is also modelled by a Bavarian princess above but could, in theory, also be worn by a Luxo-Liechtenstein princess, is fighting for your affection. Which one has the edge for you? Tell us...

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (23): Empire Tiara vs. Lannoy Tiara

You decided, Team Sapphire - or Team Adélaïde - it is! With a whopping 85.52 percent of votes, the Grand Duchess Adélaïde Tiara won against the Aquamarine Bandeau Tiara. Today, we again ask you which team you are on, 'Team Big' or 'Team Small'?
Representing 'Team Big' is the tiara that puts the 'grand' in Grand Duchess - the Empire Tiara. Competing for your affection against the biggest sparkler in the Grand Ducal Collection is the Lannoy Tiara for 'Team Small'. So, does size really matter? Tell us, are you on 'Team Go Big or Go Home' or rather 'Team Small But Beautiful'?

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (22): Grand Duchess Adélaïde Tiara vs. Aquamarine Bandeau Tiara

Tiara time! Last time we asked you for your favourite in an all-diamond race; today, the colour of the stone is at least the same - sapphire blue vs. aquamarine blue. But first, let's check out how our last match ended. Battling it out were the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara and the Congo Diamond Necklace Tiara. While (almost) an equal amount of grand ducal brides chose either of them as a wedding tiara, your choice was much clearer: The Diamond Vines Leaves Tiara got 79.86 percent of your votes and thus advances to the next round.
While team sapphire is represented by the Grand Duchess Adélaïde Tiara today, team aquamarine has sent the Aquamarine Bandeau Tiara as its representative. Which time are you on?

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (21): Vine Leaves Tiara vs. Congo Diamond Tiara

Summer break might be over - at least judging by all the news we had during the last two days - but our summer series isn't yet! It's Wednesday night and as such time for tiara match number 21. But you know what's up first, a look back: Having to make the call between Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte's Emerald Peacock Tiara and Princess Joan's Diamond Tiara, the majority of you went for the latter. And you know what? I think it might be becoming something of a dark horse of this competition. What do you think? Leave us a comment below!
And of course the main event of the post is coming right your way: Match number 21 between the Diamond Vine Leaves Tiara and the Congo Diamond Necklace Tiara. Both of them traditional wedding tiaras of the Grand Ducal Family simply follow the links before for more information. Did they help you to make up your mind? If they did, let us know...

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (20): Emerald Peacock Tiara vs. Princess Joan's Diamond Tiara

Let's end our weekend in sparkly fashion, shall we? (Yes, that's a purely rhetorical question.) Heading off against each other are two tiaras I wouldn't have necessarily expected to see in the second round of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race. But first, let's have a look back...

In the last edition, we saw the Floral Bandeau Tiara trying to take a stance against Queen Victoria's Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara. And while the diamond sparkler once worn by Grand Duchess Charlotte gathered some 22.22 percent of votes, it didn't really stand a chance against the tiara that was worn by Princess Sibilla once almost three years ago and is (co-)owned by her mother.
Like I said at the beginning of this post, we have two tiaras facing off against each other today, I wouldn't have necessarily seen in the second round both beating either better known or bigger pieces in the first one. So I'm really curious which one will win your affection today! Will it be Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte's Emerald Peacock Tiara? Or Princess Joan's Diamond Tiara? Vote here and tell us below, why you chose the tiara you voted for!

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (19): The Floral Bandeau Tiara vs. Ena's Aquamarine Tiara

First of all, apologies to those who waited for this post to come out last night (like they usually do), but I simply and totally forgot about this. Don't fear, however, as you have an additional day of voting in today's edition of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race as voting will only close on Sunday due to my weekend plans.

But first, let's have a quick look back: Last time was the 18th time that you could vote for your favourite of two (or three, in one case) tiaras in the hope to determine your favourite Luxembourgish tiara in a few weeks time. Just like the first match of the second round, this was also a close race but in the end, it was Grand Duchess Maria-Ana's Tiara that won your heart against the Sapphire Bracelet Tiara with 54.05 percent of votes. Will it be as close today? (Humble me doesn't think so, but let's see...)
Competing for your affection are the Floral Bandeau Tiara, which remains a bit of a mystery but still beat the Sapphire Necklace Tiara in the first round, and Queen Victoria Eugenia's Aquamarine Tiara, which kicked out one of the Grand Ducal Family's amethysts tiaras in round one. Which one will advance to the next round? It's up to you! So, tell us...

Don't forget to leave us a comment below to tell us which tiara you chose and why!

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (18): Sapphire Bracelet Tiara vs. Grand Duchess Maria Ana's Tiara

Previously on the Luxarazzi Tiara Race: A close race we predicted, a close race it was! In the end, it was the Belgian Scroll Tiara that took home the win against the Diamond Art Deco Tiara gathering 319 or 55.29 percent of your votes. Will it be as close today?
Fighting for your affection are the Sapphire Bracelet Tiara and the mystery tiara that caused probably the biggest upset of the first round of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race when it beat the Emerald Art Deco Tiara, the (seemingly) diamond tiara Grand Duchess Maria-Ana wore to the wedding of her second daughter, Grand Duchess Charlotte - for lack of better knowledge simply called Grand Duchess Maria-Ana's Tiara by us.

So, which one wins your affection? Vote here and drop us a comment below!

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (17): Diamond Art Deco Tiara vs. Belgian Scroll Tiara

And that was it, ladies and gentlemen, the first round of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race. But don't fear: Welcome to the second round of the Tiara Race which is the round of 16! But first let's have a look back at the last match of the previous round, during which we saw the White House Tiara, the Bavarian Lover's Knot Tiara and Princess Claire's Ruby Tiara heading of against each other. In the end, it was the Bavarian Lover's Knot Tiara that took home the win. Some of you said that the last match was a difficult one but let me tell you, it's not getting any easier in round two!
Case in point: The very first match of the round of 16 featuring not one but two tiaras many of you tipped as favourites for the overall win. On the one hand we have the Diamond Art Deco Tiara, which is owned by Princess Sibilla and can be worn in two different settings; and on the other the Belgian Scroll Tiara, a wedding gift to Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte by the Société Générale worn by Grand Duchess Maria Teresa above - both of them extremely lovely all-diamond sparklers!

I know it's a very tough choice but tell us...

Voting closes on Saturday night, so you have a bit of time to make up your mind. If you did, tell us why in the comments below!

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (16): White House Tiara vs. Bavarian Lovers Knot Tiara vs. Princess Claire's Ruby Tiara

Back when we started the Luxarazzi Tiara Race in late June, we told you that there would be 32 tiaras facing off against each other to determine your ultimate favourite of the Grand Ducal Collection and that Princess Claire's new ruby set did not make the cut as the entry was simply too late. Well, it's not the poor rubies' fault that the wife of Prince Félix did not wear them before, is it?! So today, we actually have three tiaras fighting for your affection - but first, let's have a look back...

A Liechtenstein win on Liechtenstein national day! Can it get any more perfect!? Turns out though that there do seem to be a few fringe haters out there. Despite some predictions of yours, the Habsburg Fringe Tiara did not win in the clearest of fashions of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race's first round. But don't worry, it still got 90.91 percent of votes against the Golden Bandeau Tiara - still pretty clear of a result!
Today, I don't think it will be as clear though. First, we have the tiara we have often dubbed the White House Tiara; originally belonging to Grand Duchess Hilda of Baden, a born Nassau princess and daughter of Grand Duke Adolph, it was left to her niece Grand Duchess Charlotte who once wore it to a banquet at the White House; where the tiara remains today is unclear. Then we have the Bavarian Lover's Knot Tiara, which we talked about recently and while it might not be worn by Luxembourg princesses today, it's simply to pretty to scratch it from the Race because we have a late entry. That late entry, of course, is Princess Claire's Ruby and Diamond Tiara, worn at the recent national day celebrations.

A lot of choices today, I know! But tell us,...

As always, leave us a comment below which tiara is your favourite!

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (15): Golden Bandeau Tiara vs. Habsburg Fringe Tiara

It's Wednesday night, time for some more tiara fun as we are nearing the end of the first round of the Luxarazzi Tiara Race. Just this one and another match to go until we head into the second round which will see some fierce battles, I predict. In our last match, we saw the Lannoy Tiara heading off against the Turquoise Tiara and in the end, the sparkler owned by the family of Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie took home the win with some 80 percent of your votes.
Facing off against each other today are the Golden Bandeau Tiara worn by Grand Duchess Charlotte in her younger years and the Habsburg Fringe Tiara - and yes, it's technically part of the Liechtenstein collection but a) we needed a few additional entries (like the two Bavarian tiaras); b) this could be worn by a Luxembourgish princess as Princess Margaretha is both the sister of the Grand Duke and sister-in-law of the Fürst, and c) a fringe tiara is one of the only basic tiaras shapes the Grand Ducal Collection lacks - worn by Hereditary Princess Sophie above. So, tell us...

And drop us a comment below! Voting closes on Saturday night.

The Luxarazzi Tiara Race (14): Turquoise Tiara vs. Lannoy Tiara

Last time on the Luxarazzi Tiara Race: The tiara that puts the grand in 'Grand Duchess' - a.k.a. the Empire Tiara - won against the handcuffs the shoebuckles the Sapphire Art Deco Tiara by 85.89 percent of your votes.
Will this one be as clear? I dare not make a prediction... The Turquoise Tiara vs. the Lannoy Tiara - both small, both with (kind of) known history, both with its lovers and its haters. Tell us, ...
