Responsible blogging...

Because this blog receives more than 15,000 page views in a month we generate 3.5kg of carbon each year. There are more than 200,000,000 blogs and these blogs produce 700,000 tonnes of carbon annually.

To offset our contribution to the blogosphere cloud of carbon dioxide I have signed up for the Ixpo initiative. The National Forest Foundation is planting a tree for our blog. This single little tree will remove 10kg of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year. That means our blog will be 6.5kg carbon positive. It isn't enough but it is something!

If each blogger planted a tree or joined a similar initiative we could remove 2.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide every year! If you have a blog or website I encourage you to join the initiative, find a similar initiative or plant a tree yourself.
