Friday Flashback (on a Tuesday): The Prince in the Background

44 years ago today at around 8:30am, Prince Felix died at the Château de Fischbach. Born as the 18th child of Duke Robert I of Parma, his mother was Infanta Maria-Antonia of Portugal, second wife of the Duke. After serving in the Austrian army during World War I, he married Grand Duchess Charlotte in 1919. The couple had six children, Grand Duke Jean; Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Hohenberg; Princess Marie-Adélaïde, Countess Henckel von Donnersmarck; Princess Marie-Gabrielle, Countess Holstein til Ledreborg; Prince Charles; and Princess Alix, Princess of Ligne.
