Today's visit to Wiltz marked the end of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie's the tour of Luxembourg’s 15 Centres de développement et d’attraction (CDA). The purpose of the tour, which kicked off with a visit to Mersch in April last year, was for the Hereditary Grand Duchess to get the different parts of her new country a little better. I'm not sure whether it was planned this way but in the end, it took the Hereditary Grand Ducal Couple two years to complete the visits.
Via beautiful Vianden, Echternach's dancing procession and Redange in western Luxembourg in May last year, they made their way to Dudelange on June 15. The traditional visit to Esch-sur-Alzette on the eve of national day was extended and also made part of the tour last year. Shortly before going on summer holiday, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie visited Clerveaux. 2013's visits were rounded off by a visit to (different parts of) Luxembourg City.
The tour continued in May of this year with visits to Differdange and Junglinster, followed by Grevenmacher as well as Ettelbrück and Diekirch in June. Places to visit number thirteen and fourteen on the list were Steinfort and Remich last month with the final visit having taken place today.
Then I count no less than 16 places :-)
ReplyDeleteExactly. Ettelbrück and Diekirch form one CDA ;-)
