You might remember that in the days and weeks before the wedding of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and the new Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, there was a huge greeting card touring the country so that everyone could sign it. This morning, the happy couple finally received their very large gift.
Measuring a little more than twelve square metre, the card toured 36 towns and villages in the Grand Duchy. During the journey of more than 1.000 kilometres, 7.000 people put their signature on it and additionally filled a book with 300 pages with wishes for the their future grand ducal couple. (A gallery of pictures of the card's journey can be found at Good Idea.) The card was designed by Luxembourgish artist Pit Weyer.
Today, the president and the director of the Confédération Luxembourgeoise du Commerce handed over the card in the curtilage of the palais. Afterwards, Guillaume and Stephanie also received the book and an art print indoors.
