The agenda of the cour tells us that the entire immediate grand ducal family will attend the wedding of Archduke Christoph of Austria and Adelaide Drape-Frisch on December 28th and 29th. Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie, Prince Felix and Claire Lademacher, Prince Louis and Princess Tessy, Princess Alexandra as well as Prince Sebastien will make their way to Nancy to witness the wedding of their nephew / cousin. None of the other family members are mentioned but they pretty much never are.

Question: why aren't the other members of the family ever mentioned? Is it because GD Jean is no longer the ruler of the country? I'm just comparing it with the Belgian RF, UK RF, Spanish RF, that during events all of the monarchs or most are present or included.
ReplyDeleteThe Cour only ever mentions events that include Henri, his wife and his children. Rarely do any of the other members receive any official credit for the many activities they undertake. They only rate a brief mention in the biography of GD Jean.
ReplyDeleteMost other countries cover the activities and include biographies of the extended family. Henri favors only including the information of himself, his wife and their children. Poor Princess Tessy only merits inclusion as a link at the bottom of Louis' biography and that is a recent development.
Thanks for the f.y.i =) It crossed my mind bc I was recently looking at the website for the British RF and they even include the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.
