On the 10th, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa received in audience Professor Dolores Angela Castelli-Dransart and Dr. François d'Onghia, both of whom work to support suicide prevention efforts. Professor Castelli-Dransart works at the Haute école de travail social Fribourg with a focus on the motives behind suicide and how to recognize suicidal behavior before it's too late. Dr. d'Onghia heads up the Suicide Prevention Department and has coordinated on the national suicide prevention plan since 2012.
The theme for 2017's National Day of Suicide Prevention, which is organized by Prévention-Suicide, is the impact of suicide and how it can cause psychological vulnerabilities in family members and friends.
