What a lovely surprise! The cour grand-ducale has released a picture of the christening of Archduchess Maria-Stella that took place last Saturday (presumably in the morning or early afternoon as members of the family where in Nancy later that day) at the parish church of Fischbach, the home of Grand Duke Jean. The first child of Archduke Imre, himself the oldest son of Princess Marie-Astrid and Archduke Carl-Christian, and his wife Archduchess Kathleen was born on November 11 in Luxembourg where the family is living. Apparently her full name is Maria-Stella Elizabeth Christiana Yolande Alberta.
The guests of the christening included Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Grand Duke Jean, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, Prince Sébastien, Archduke Carl-Christian and Archduchess Marie-Astrid, Archduchess Yolande, Archduchess Marie-Christine and Count Rodolphe de Limburg-Stirum with their two sons Count Léopold, who adorably brought along two of his favourite plush toys, and Count Constantin, Archduke Christoph and Archduchess Adélaïde, Archduke Alexander, Archduchess Gabriella as well as Prince Paul-Louis and Prince Jean, sons of Prince Guillaume and Princess Sibilla.
The little Archduchess Maria-Stella is the fifth great-grandchild and first great-granddaughter of Grand Duke Jean and the fourth great-granddaughter of Archduchess Yolande, widow of Archduke Carl-Ludwig who was the fourth son of Blessed Emperor Karl and Empress Zita of Austria.
