On Friday, Grand Duke Henri was in Israel to attend the funeral of Shimon Peres, the two-time Prime Minister of Israel who also served as that nation's ninth President between 2007 and 2014. Grand Duke Henri attended with numerous other world leaders (including King Felipe of Spain, pictured with the Grand Duke above); representatives from approximately 70 countries were there to pay their respects to the late statesman.
