On Day 3 of the state visit to Finland, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa had another busy schedule. The couple traveled to Espoo, which is the second largest city in Finland after Helsinki but also sits along the eastern border of Helsinki and shares many of its nearly 270,000 residents with the greater metropolitan area of the capital city.
In Espoo, Henri and Maria Teresa paid a visit to Aalto University, which is considered Finland's first super university as it merged three other universities in 2010: the Helsinki University of Technology, the Helsinki School of Economics, and the University of Art and Design Helsinki. While there, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess spoke to students about their fields of study, with a particular focus on those engaged in researches in innovation.
A little more from Wort. Still awaiting photos of the university visit.
