On the 17th, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were present to commemorate 75 years after the last deportation train left Luxembourg. The event also included a memorial to the victims on the site of the first synagogue in the Grand Duchy, with a plaque that recalled the 658 Jewish men, women, and children who were deported between 1941 and 1943; the last train departed on the 17th of June in 1943.
Prime Minister Xavier Bettel was also in attendance.
