Guillaume In Dubai And Ras al-Khaimah

After opening an embassy and doing some other stuff in Abu Dhabi, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and his entourage made their way to Dubai yesterday, where they met with Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, member of the ruling family of the second largest emirate. They also visited 'The Big 5', an International Building and Construction Show, where Luxembourg has an own pavillion. The always handy RTL has a video of the visit (starting at about 9:42), while Wort has an article with pictures. On Tuesday morning they also had further meetings with possible investors in Dubai.

They then went on to the lesser known emirate Ras al-Khaimah to visit the RAK Ceramics/RAK Porcelain, a manufacturer who has its European headquarters in Luxembourg. Afterwards they had an audience with the ruler of Ras al-Khaimah Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and an agreement regarding bilateral and economic cooperation between the two states was signed. Further information are available at the Khaleej Times Online. Everyone's favourite Luxembourgish TV station (well, they basically only have one...) also has a video of this visit, Guillaume and his gang can be first seen at about 13:35, even though the report starts about two minutes earlier.

The cour regularly updates their photo gallery of the whole Economic Mission. Tageblatt has an article about Guillaume on Economic Mission; it does not deal with the single events but the Economic Mission as a whole, how the Hereditary Grand Duke does his work and how he acts.
