The law that makes Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy a Luxembourgish citizen upon her marriage to the Hereditary Grand Duke has passed through parliament. Despite some quarrels, all parties voted in favour of the law; there were two deputies that voted against it, one abstained. (Source: Wort)
Xavier Bettel, the mayor of Luxembourg City, has revealed that Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy will mingle with the crowds on the evening after their civil wedding just before the fireworks. At 7pm the couple will make their way through the town center to Place Guillaume II where they will witness a performance of "I'm in Love", the song Joël Heyard wrote especially for them. The fireworks will start at 8:15pm and are followed by a concert by Belgian singer Selah Sue and Luxembourgish band FunkyP at 8:45pm. Though I'm kind of confused as the gala dinner at the palais is supposed to start at 8pm and even if Guillaume and Stéphanie don't stay for the fireworks, it usually takes longer than a few minutes to get ready for a gala dinner. In case you've always been wondering who makes the hats of Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, her daughter, her daughter-in-law, her future daughter-in-law and lots of other royal ladies, RTL is offering a special report about the lady behind the headdresses, Belgian Fabienne Delvigne. It wouldn't be too much of a surprise if she would make the hats for many of the Grand Ducal ladies for the upcoming wedding. The report includes video footage of many events including the wedding of Prince Louis and Princess Tessy.

Even though the song title is in English, I did not expect the song to be sung in the language or for the song to be so modern in nature. I have to say I expected something in Luxemburgish or French and for the song to be something more traditional (i.e. something classical). The song is really nice, it is just not the song I was expecting.
ReplyDeleteI managed to listen to the wedding song several times on Monday, before the full version was taken offline. Simple, nice and romantic to my opinion. Probably not modern, but it is easy to sing along, Just don't really like the female singer's voice.
ReplyDeleteActuall the Articles say they will mingle with the crowd on 20. October, so the day of the religious wedding
