Interview with Claire and Félix

Prince Félix and his soon-to-be wife Claire Lademacher have sat down and gave an interview to the Luxemburger Wort. Here's a translation of what they had to say.

How did you meet and since when have you been a couple?

Félix: We first met in 2001 at the Collège Alpin International Beau Soleil in Switzerland which we both attended to receive our secondary education. Over the following years a strong friendship developed and has become the basis for our love.

Do you know yet where you will be living after your wedding?

Félix: I have just finished my studies with a master's degree in bioethics. After my studies I will need to earn my own money to support my own family.

Claire: Apart from me finishing my PhD, we have decided that we will move to Southern France after the wedding to run the vineyard estate of the family.

Why is the civil wedding going to take place in the Hessian town of Königstein im Taunus in Germany and the religious wedding at the Basilique de Sainte Marie-Madeleine in
Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume in the French Département Var?

Félix: It is a tradition that the wedding is celebrated in the bride's native. We wanted to respect this beautiful tradition, which, I think, is also a sign of respect to my future in-laws. Moreover, the history of Königstein is directly linked with that of the Grand Ducal Family which increased the symbolic power of the choice.

Claire: We both have wonderful memories of summer holidays spent in the south of France, both at the property of my parents near Lorgues and with my future in-laws as well as our respective families and friends at Cabasson. The idea of getting married in the Provence came naturally as we wanted to add to those precious moments with our loved ones.

Can you reveal to our readers how many guests there will be for the religious wedding?

Félix: Yes, about 370 guests will be in attendance.

The honeymoon is always something very special for every newly wed couple. Where will you be spending yours?

Félix: We will be leaving for our honeymoon on the day after the wedding and I have organised the trip myself. It has been a tradition in my family that the bride doesn't know in advance what the destination is and so that it will be a surprise revealed shortly before leaving. Thus you will understand that I cannot reveal anything.
