A Thousand Thanks...

When I opened this blog on September 7, 2009 I had no idea that it would still be going strong five years later. This is the 1000th entry at Luxarazzi. Everyone here at Team Luxarazzi would like to thank our readers. Your continued support and interest make it all worthwhile. Being able to share our interest with a community of like minded readers has brought each of us real joy.

I would like to personally express my gratitude and warmest regard for Sydney who has become the heart and soul of all things Luxarazzi. She joined the team in November 2010. Since that time she has readily written hundreds of articles. Some of these pieces are straight news while others are heavily researched special interest pieces in the popular Luxarazzi 101 series. I watch as the draft grows from random notes on collected research to a comprehensive article full of often little known facts. She sometimes spends weeks working on a single piece. She's traveled extensively to tour Nassau related sites and attend several Grand Ducal events. She readily shares these experiences with all of us. She is also responsible for the ever improving look of the blog. She creates all of the graphics and banners that are used here on the blog and associated social media accounts. She also somehow finds time to contribute to Royals of Hanover as well as being active on her Twitter account and on our Facebook.

Although I initially wrote all of the articles I was greatly aided by the assistance of a wonderful friend from Russia and later a fiery young woman from Alabama. Every day we would speak to each other and exchange royal news. We were interested in Luxembourg but found it difficult to find information. The blog was just a way of helping out the few others that we knew also shared our interest and difficulty. Our friendship blossomed even as their interest in royalty waned.  While they are no longer involved with the blog, I still consider both to be a vital part of the development and regard them with great affection as friends.

Others have made important contributions to the blog. Ambrosia wrote extensively about the wedding of Archduke Imre. She also provided many photos for our enjoyment. Luxfan recently wrote about her personal experience touring the Grand Ducal Palace. She's also hard at work on the Luxarazzi 101 series about the Nassau history.  She's already contributed articles about the Duchy of Nassau, Grand Duke Adolph, and the Russian Orthodox Church in Wiesbaden. These are popular and informative pieces.

We've grown from a little known blog with only a few dozen readers to averaging 100,000 - 160,000 readers every month. This wouldn't be possible without the contributions of everyone involved including Sydney, Ambrosia, Faith, Lily, Luxfan, Daniela and Fleur.

A big thank you also goes to anyone who has ever given us links, spots or news in various ways for us to share with all of you out there. While it would be a bit much to name everyone individually, special mentions in this regard must go to Iza, Valentin and Netty as well as various other bloggers and royalty lovers who regularly sent us news via the various social media devices.

Once again, thank you to our readers. Thanks to all our regulars and thanks to all who just stop by every once in a while or because their good old friend Google led them here. Seeing our number of readers grow from time to time is what makes our days and keeps us going. I know that our numbers of visitors do not compare to those of many other royal blogs out there but we are very happy with our little niche that is Luxembourg and, since a few months, Liechtenstein. To the next 1000 posts!

  3. It is an honour to be mentioned :-) And the blog is wonderful. Actually often a better source than Luxemburg newspapers and court.

  8. It is good the lesser known royal families are covered also. Some people think it is all about Great Britain only ... so boring.
