After a balcony appearance and visits to Esch and Mondorf earlier today, the Grand Ducal Family rounded off the day by watching the traditional torchlight parade earlier tonight from the Place de la Constitution. Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, Prince Félix and Princess Claire, Prince Louis and Princess Tessy (at least she was scheduled to though she was also this afternoon when she didn't appear on the balcony), Princess Alexandra as well as Prince Sébastien all watched a procession of firefighters and scouts carrying torchlights as well as folklore and musical groups and associations.

The Grand Duke was also presented with a birthday cake - and a car? At least it says "This car is also 'born' in 1955. - to mark the big 6-0 he turned earlier this year, after all national day is his official birthday. The night ended with the fireworks display from the Parc Dräi Eechelen.

Tomorrow is Nationalfeierdag: For a schedule of the day's events, have a look here.
