Better late then never.
On May 18th, Prince Hans-Adam was in Opava, in the Czech Republic, for a two-day visit. The city, part of the historical Principality of Opava, or the Duchy of Troppau, is in the northern part of the country and has quite a complex history.
The Duchy of Troppau, as a recognized area, ceased to exist in 1918, with the end of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The title of Duke of Troppau and Jägerndorf, however, is still held by the current Prince of Liechtenstein, the one and only Prince Hans-Adam II. He was in Opava for a private visit back in May with his cousin Maria-Pia Kothbauer, a Princess of Liechtenstein who is also the Ambassador of Liechtenstein to Austria and the Czech Republic.
