Grand Duke Henri was in Brussels today to attend the plenary meeting of the European Commission and the European Council. The Grand Duke's visit to both institutions focused, among other things, on the complexities facing European economics and the ongoing refugee situation.
First on the agenda was a bilateral meeting with Claude Juncker, followed by a working lunch with other members. Additionally, Grand Duke Henri met with President of the European Council Donald Tusk, who congratulated Luxembourg on its successes while holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The day also included a reception held by Luxembourg's Ambassador in Belgium.
Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa was originally scheduled to be in attendance as well but was unable to make it.
