On Sunday, Prince Hans-Adam and Princess Marie were on hand to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Liechtenstein's association for traditional costumes. The tradition of wearing what today is known as the traditional dresses in Liechtenstein can be traced back to around the year 1700. The Trachtenverein association was founded by Adulf Peter Goop, who you might recall from the Principality's Fabergé egg, and fellow enthusiasts in 1965 as an umbrella organisation for 18 smaller association of traditional dress loving Liechtensteiners.
