Today, the Liechtenstein Red Cross had its annual general assembly and it wasn't just a special one because no less than for members of the Princely Family, in the persons of the Princess Marie, Hereditary Princess Sophie, Prince Nikolaus and Princess Margaretha, were in attendance. This year, the Principality's branch of the international organisation celebrates its 70th anniversary. It was founded by Princess Gina in 1945 to help refugees at the end of World War II.

Thirty years ago, Princess Gina handed over her position as president of the organisation over to her daughter-in-law, then Hereditary Princess Marie. Today Princess Marie did the very same: She also resigned from her position handing over the duties to her daughter-in-law Hereditary Princess Sophie, who became the new president. Princess Marie was made honorary president.

Also among the guests of the general assembly were Prince Nikolaus, the international representative of the Liechtenstein Red Cross, his lovely wife, Princess Margaretha, as well as Prime Minister Adrian Hasler, the President of Parliament, Albert Frick, and Aurelia Frick, the Principality's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Culture.

  1. Interesting, I thought GD Henri would be in the US for the whole weekend. It was good to see him. GD Maria-Teresa was the best dressed. Princess Tessy wore a nice teal outfit for Mass and repeated a lovely hat later. I didn't like hers or Princess Claire's outfits for the closing procession. Too short. Princess Amalia is adorable. There doesn't seem to be as many pictures as last year.
