More Party in the Garden

Photo: Guy Jallay / Luxemburger Wort / Wort.lu
The Grand Ducal Family is still in national day mode - and I'm in blogging mode so to say, this is my sixth update of the day and I'm not done yet - and hosted yet another garden party at the Château de Berg. They even welcomed a new player to the national day team, Princess Tessy who probably just flew in from London, as well as an old player who was missing inbetween, Prince Félix. Apart from that, there were our usual suspects, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, as well as Prince Louis. However, gone was Prince Sébastien and Princess Alexandra hasn't been there all along. (Nothing unusual, she was probably busy at university.)

As (almost) always more visuals are located at Wort as well as the not-so-always Pressphoto.

  1. I agree that there should be no comparisons. They are two different women, married to two different men. And the pregnancy race thing is just appalling. Haven't we progressed past that? I really believe it's best to wait a little while, and it's not like Stephanie is pre-menopausal and needs to hurry. Let her enjoy her marriage awhile, the two of them seem so smitten with each other, they make me smile to see them.

I don't believe Claire was pregnant at the time of her wedding. Amalia was born just two days short of nine months after the civil wedding, and she was a rather small baby. If Claire was pregnant at the time of the wedding, she was not pregnant enough to even be aware of it.

I am not particularly fond of Claire, but I don't have to be. I do like Stephanie, who seems sweet. I also don't get the criticism of Stephanie's statement about being a princess of Luxembourg coming from the heart. My take on that is that she was trying to indicate her love for her adopted country.

All that aside, I wish the best to both Guillaume and Felix in their marriages. Princess Amalia is beyond adorable, and I'm sure that Stephanie will also produce adorable children when she is ready to do so. When SHE and her husband are ready, not when some gossip columnist dictates that it's time.
