Visiting Grevenmacher

Earlier today, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie paid a visit to Grevenmacher in eastern Luxembourg close to the German border. The visit took place as part of the couple's tour of the Grand Duchy's 15 Centre de Développement et d'Attraction (CDA).

After being welcomed by Grevenmacher's mayor and a bunch of other dignitaries, the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Hereditary Grand Duchess witnessed performances of the Harmonie municipale as well as the first graders of the local primary school. During his speech mayor Léon Gloden emphasised the close ties between the Grand Ducal Family and the city on the Moselle river. After a stroll through the town, the Hereditary Grand Ducal Couple signed Grevenmacher's golden book and was gifted was a number of local delicacies as well as a two books and a painting. After another sightseeing tour, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie visited the Home pour personnes âgées before a reception hosted in their honour rounded off the day.
